Fights Forgotten: A History of Some of the Chief English and American Prize Fights Since the Year 1788 is a very scarce 1909 boxing history book compiled by Henry Sayers and published by T. Werner Laurie in London. Spanning 260-numbered pages plus a short publisher’s advertisement catalogue at the rear, this 24-chapter work chronicles the most legendary eras of pugilism from 1788 up through 1900. It features detailed accounts of standard bare-knuckle and early gloved matches involving iconic fighters like Daniel Mendoza, Tom Cribb, John Jackson, Tom Sayers, John L. Sullivan, and James J. Corbett.

Book and illustration Description:
• Illustrations: The book features 11 total illustrations—consisting of a portrait frontispiece and 10 standalone black-and-white plates. Because these early plates were glued into the binding separately rather than printed on the text sheets, many surviving copies suffer from missing or loose illustrations.
