Description
Odd, Gilbert ‘Ali, The Fighting Prophet’ 1975 1st edition. 96-page biography tracking the life and career of Muhammad Alis. VG/VG.
Book Description:
The book guides readers through Ali’s rise, starting from his birth as Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. in Louisville, Kentucky, to his legendary 1974 “Rumble in the Jungle” victory against George Foreman in Zaire to recapture the World Heavyweight Championship. Rather than just evaluating his boxing record, the text details various personal dimensions of Ali’s life, including his initial intense fear of flying (which nearly prevented him from traveling to the 1960 Rome Olympics), his famous pre-fight predictions, and his gradual conversion to the Muslim faith. It contains black-and-white illustrations and features an official foreword written by British heavyweight boxing champion Henry Cooper, who famously knocked Ali down during their 1963 bout.
